Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-04-20. Last updated 2026-06-21.
This policy describes how TradesView, Inc. ("TradesView", "we", "us") handles personal information we collect when you use the TradesView iOS app, web app at www.tradesview.ai, and any homeowner folio links we issue on your behalf.
What we collect
- Account information — name, email address, and the password you set (stored hashed by Firebase Authentication, never accessible to us in plaintext).
- Project data — job records you create (homeowner last name, site address, phase), room scans you capture (3D geometry, derived floor plans, GPS origin), and share links you mint for homeowners.
- Device and usage context — device model, OS version, and app version, submitted at scan time to help us debug compatibility. We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA) and do not embed third-party analytics SDKs.
- Precise location — captured once per scan to anchor the 3D model to the job site. Stored only with the scan it belongs to. Not used for ongoing location tracking.
What we do with it
- Run the core product — let you capture, view, and share project information with homeowners and subcontractors you authorize.
- Authenticate you and authorize who can see what (jobs are owned by the GC who created them; homeowners only see what you explicitly share).
- Operate the service — logs, error reports, performance metrics. We never sell these to anyone.
- Communicate with you about the service itself — product updates, security notices, account-level events.
Text messaging (SMS & MMS)
TradesView sends and receives SMS and MMS messages so a general contractor can communicate with the homeowners and subcontractors on their jobs — scheduling, status updates, photos of work, change-order questions, and replies to messages those parties send first. Messaging is conversational and job-related; we do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
- How numbers are collected. A contractor enters a homeowner's or subcontractor's mobile number to communicate about a specific job, or that person texts the contractor's TradesView number first. Providing a number or starting a conversation constitutes consent to receive job-related messages.
- Frequency varies with job activity. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier.
- Opt out at any time by replying STOP; we stop immediately. Reply START to resume, or HELP for help.
- We do not share or sell mobile numbers, opt-in / consent data, or message content to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. Numbers and content are used only to operate messaging between you and the contractor, handled by our messaging subprocessors (Twilio, and during onboarding Battle Rhythm) solely to deliver and receive messages on our instruction.
- Message content is stored with the job's communication record (subject to Retention, below).
Appointment text messages
Text messages. With your consent, TradesView sends SMS text messages on behalf of the contractor you contacted — appointment confirmations, a secure scheduling link, and brief replies about the service you requested. These are transactional messages tied to a service relationship you initiated; we do not send marketing or promotional text blasts under this program.
How consent is obtained. When you call a contractor's business line and provide your mobile number, you are told that the contractor will text you appointment confirmations and a scheduling link, and you agree to receive them. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time; reply HELP for help.
We do not sell or share your data for marketing. Your mobile phone number, your SMS opt-in, and your consent are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Mobile opt-in data is used only to deliver the messaging described above.
Google Calendar
Google Calendar. If you connect a Google account, TradesView accesses your Google Calendar events solely to provide the scheduling features you enable — reading availability to offer appointment times, and creating, confirming, or rescheduling appointment events. TradesView's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: we use Google Calendar data only to provide and improve these user-facing features; we do not transfer or sell it to third parties; we do not use it for advertising; and we do not allow humans to read it except (i) with your consent, (ii) for security purposes, (iii) to comply with applicable law, or (iv) where the data is aggregated and anonymized. We request the minimum scope necessary (calendar.events) and no Gmail or other Google data.
Microsoft 365 / Outlook calendar
Microsoft 365 calendar. If you connect a Microsoft 365/Outlook account, TradesView accesses your calendar via Microsoft Graph as you (delegated access), solely to read availability and to create, confirm, or reschedule appointment events. We request the minimum permission necessary (Calendars.ReadWrite) and do not request organization-wide or application-level access. We store only the calendar information needed to provide scheduling — the appointment events we create on your behalf and the references needed to manage them — and transient availability data used at scheduling time. We do not sell this data, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it except with the subprocessors that operate the service under contract. You can disconnect at any time; on disconnection or account closure we stop accessing your calendar and delete the calendar data we hold for you, except records we are required to retain by law.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal data, ever.
- We do not use your data to target advertising, on or off our service.
- We do not share data with brokers or ad networks.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who we share with
- Subprocessors we use to operate the service: Google Cloud (Firestore, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Firebase Authentication), Apple (for TestFlight + App Store distribution), Twilio (SMS/MMS delivery), and Battle Rhythm (interim SMS/MMS proxy during onboarding). Each is bound by contract to use data only for the purposes we instruct.
- Homeowners you invite see exactly what you choose to share with them via a folio link — job address, phase, scans you've attached. Folio links are signed and revocable; revoking one stops the homeowner's access immediately.
- Legal requests — if we receive a valid legal request for your data we will, whenever legally permitted, notify you before responding.
Retention
We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Profile → Delete Account, or email us), we cascade-delete your jobs, scans, folio shares, and account credentials within 30 days. Backups containing deleted data are rotated out on a 60-day cycle.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. The fastest paths:
- Delete your account in-app: Profile → Delete Account.
- Export or correction: email us at privacy@tradesview.ai. We respond within 30 days.
If you are in the EU / UK / California / other jurisdictions with data-rights laws, those rights apply regardless of where TradesView is incorporated.
Children
TradesView is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Data at rest is encrypted at the storage layer by our cloud providers. Account passwords are hashed + salted by Firebase Authentication; we never see them in plaintext. We review access logs and apply the principle of least privilege for our own engineers.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you in-app and by email before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
